Missionary Wisdom – Sister Julianne Fairbanks

I LOVE Romans 15:1-3 (see below). I have realized that it is not about me. It’s not about what makes me happy and what I prefer, but what I can be doing/changing to make others happy, even if that means making sacrifices. Sometimes this may mean slowing down even when I’d much rather be going at a faster pace. But as it says in Romans we are “not to please ourselves…for even Christ pleased not himself.” It’s definitely a hard thing to do, especially for stubborn, sassy, independent people like me, but I read it from the scriptures, it’s there, so I am going to do it!

Romans 15: 1 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

2 Let every one of us please his neighbor for his good to edification.

3 For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
